The North Hampshire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2010 has been named as The Eagle
Inn at Abbotts Ann
The local CAMRA Pub of the Year presentation to the Eagle Inn at Abbotts Ann was held on 3 July.
The following report was submitted by johnpb on 4 July:
It was a great day over at the Eagle for our Pub of the Year, when Sir
George Young (yes, he of Leader of the House of Commons fame) presented
the award on behalf of CAMRA to Alan and Kate.

I won't mention we planned for the 1.58 bus back to Andover as we missed
it. It had nothing to do with the excellent chat, the great beers or the
wonderful cheeses freely on offer either, but we also seemed to miss the
2.58. 3.58, 4.58, then discovered there wasn't a 5.58! Luckily there was
one at 6.23 or thereabouts and we wound our way back to Andover for a quick
couple of halves in Town Mills - Wadworths St George, Bishops Tipple, Strong
in the Arm and a special find - Jersey Brewery's Liberation Ale! They also
use wooden casks here - a rarity!
By the time we reached Whitchurch, and after another four pubs were sampled,
my travelling colleague was whisked off back home... ;-)
It was a day of lots of good beer and lots of good company.
If you are in the area - pop into the Eagle.

PS: They always have ciders too if you are that way inclined :-)
