Dave and Al Hollindrake
... From the Blackwood Arms, Littleworth Common to the Coach & Horses, Rotherwick

This article has kindly been provided to us by Alec Moore from the Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead branch of CAMRA.

Dave & Al Hollindrake

A sad loss to the area is the departure of Dave & Al Hollindrake, publicans at the ‘Blackwood Arms’, Littleworth Common. Having done a great job restoring business at this gem of a pub after a period of indifferent management, they are leaving in March, to another rural pub, the ‘Coach & Horses’, in Rotherwick, North Hampshire.

In appreciation of their efforts the Branch had awarded them ‘Pub of the Season’ distinction in Summer 2005. The news of their departure prompted us to present them with a Special Award of Thanks & Best Wishes, and this took place on Tuesday 21st Feb.

The very sharp-eyed among you may spot that one of the three real-ale pumps in the picture is serving mild beer, a traditional style of beer that has been disappearing from our pubs, and which CAMRA promotes with its ‘May is Mild Month’ campaign every year. Dave & Al say that they intend to stock a mild in their new venture, which is with a different company, and we wish them every success.
