Change of Use from Public House to Residential Dwelling: REFUSED
|
| |
 |
| |
After putting forward a detailed submission on the viability and demand for local pubs, this result shows that our efforts are worthwhile. Thanks to all who wrote in letters of objection.
The important thing is to now support the pub and to visit it as much as possible.
Letter received from Basingstoke & Deane Planning Department:
To:
Mr J Buckley
North Hampshire Campaign for Real Ale
Dear Mr Buckley
Location: The Plough, Ashmansworth
Proposal: Change of use from public house to residential dwelling
I refer to the application submitted in respect of the above mentioned proposal and to the representations you have made.
The applications and representations received have been considered and permission has been refused for the following reasons:
The Local Planning Authority considers there is insufficient justification for the loss of a Public House, which is a Community facility, in this area. In particular the applicant has failed to show that there is no longer a need for such a facility in the locality. the proposal is therefore contrary to Policy CF104 of the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Local Plan and Policy C9 of the emerging Local Plan.
Yours sincerely
Graham Wyatt
Principal Planning Officer. |
